TEST TECHNICIAN

Currently seeking a Test Technician in Farmington Hills, MI. This position bears the main bulk of the testing workload within the department. Candidate will be responsible for retrieving the test samples, fixtures and setting up for the specific test(s). They will perform tests to completion while collecting all required data and/or photos for the specific test(s) that will later be used to generate a test report(s). Other responsibilities include pre-checks and trial runs of test equipment prior to actual testing to ensure system accuracy and normalcy. Assist testing manager and engineers in supplying and tracking the testing inventory levels. Interfacing with internal customers to communicate specific details of tests performed. General knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025-2005 guidelines and requirements. Assisting in the responsibility of maintaining the housekeeping of the test lab under OSHA regulations. Maintenance of testing machines including maintenance log entries. Knowledge of FMVSS, CMVSS, UNECE, JSS standards and regulations, durability, structural fatigue, flammability and strength testing.

Compensation for the Test Technician:
Starting salary for this position is $20.00-$26.00 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities of the Test Technician:
Retrieve test samples, fixtures and set-up for specific test
Run and perform tests to completion
Collect all required data for the specific tests and generate test report from the test data
Responsible for pre-checking all machines to ensure test equipment is running properly
Assist Testing Manager in supplying and tracking the testing inventory levels
Interfacing with internal customers to communicate specific details of tests performed
General knowledge of ISO/IEC: 17025: 2005 standards
Assisting in the responsibility of maintaining the housekeeping of the test lab under OSHA regulations
Maintenance of testing machines including updating documentation on the maintenance log
Knowledge of FMVSS, UNEVE testing, Durability testing, Structural Fatigue testing, Flammability testing, and Strength testing

Minimum Requirements of Education, Training and Experience of the Test Technician:
High School diploma or equivalent
1-3 years prior experience in a related field preferred
Automotive seat or other testing experience a plus
Mechanical background a plus
