Job Summary of the Machine Maintenance Technician:
The Maintenance associate is responsible for maintaining, repairing and modifying bakery equipment and conveyor system throughout the facility. Responsibilities also include creating and implementing improvements to better the production function. Other duties include installing equipment, changing parts and determining work procedures. This candidate would be required to work Monday-Friday, 45-50 hours per week with some required weekends as well. Shifts can start as early as 5A.M.
Our client is a leader in the Midwest baking industry. They run fully automated lines to mass produce loaves of bread, hamburger buns and hot-dog buns. This bakery assures a high level of quality in their healthful and delicious products.
We are currently looking for a Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team in Lowell, IN at an industrial bakery! This position is expected to last 6 months and may turn into an opportunity to be hired in with the company.
Job Responsibilities of the Machine Maintenance Technician:
Maintain and do preventative maintenance of baking equipment & conveyor system.
Replace, rotate, inspect and change parts of industrial machines.
Connect power unit to machines, and test unit to evaluate its mechanical & electrical operation. (Panel wiring, machine wiring & motor wiring).
Repair, Lubricate, Assemble and install equipment, using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Use blueprints and electrical schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, hi-lo and lift trucks.
Work with mixing, extruders, refrigeration, proofer, conveyors, boilers, silos and oven equipment.
Take initiative to learn more about the machines by reading manuals and other materials.
Follow all "Good Manufacturing Practices" and/or established quality and safety procedures including properly Lock out/ Tag out any applicable equipment.
Properly follow all safety policies.
Communicate safety issues immediately and inform supervisor of any inconsistencies.
Any and all other duties deemed necessary by supervision.
$23.00 per hour
